Summary
Takes place one year after The Last Jedi. Some elements from TROS (planets, characters and some plot beats), manipulated a little or a lot to suit my version of the story. Expect appearances from past and present characters and conflict within our two opposing sides; the Resistance and the First Order, as the galaxy at large comes to terms with the complications and consequences caused by the dyad
Rey and Kylo are very conflicted over the events in Snoke’s Throne Room so prepare for a very slow-burn romance, angst and humour as they sort out their feelings over a lengthy resolution to their epic star-crossed drama.
This is everything I would have loved to see in TROS to close the circle of the Skywalker Saga and resolve Light and Dark, albeit with a lot more introspection than would be permissible for a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster. But it’s Star Wars and my two favourite characters and I can’t help digging into their feelings as events unfold. Written in the third person, mostly from the morally confused and increasingly enamoured perspectives of Rey and Kylo.

“The Resistance would never trust you enough to agree to negotiations,” she told him after a few minutes.
“It is fortunate, then, that I have no intention of negotiating with anyone. I will graciously offer up their General, and the Resistance will return my wife in exchange. There are no other options.”
Well, he could also kill them all and take his wife from the top of a hill of corpses…but that hardly needed being said. Besides, he was fairly certain that option wouldn’t endear him to his runaway bride. For this to be clean, he needed a fair exchange to occur.
He could see her starting to panic, her eyes darting around the corners of the small, stark room as she searched for an answer. She knew as well as Kylo did that the Resistance would do a lot to get Leia Organa back. Even sacrifice one of their own.
“Who…?” she asked at last, “Who is your wife?”

Rey withdraws her left hand with a startled gasp as the right reaches for her blanket to draw it ineffectually across her torso, just as he takes a jerky step towards her, gloved hand outstretched as though to stop her.
"Don't," he says. It's only that one short word, a single clipped syllable, and still she feels her belly constrict with want when she hears that deep velvety voice.
She stops moving, a dugar dugar caught in the headlights.
Her panic and embarrassment must be clearly visible in her eyes, for Kylo steps back again and lowers his hand.
"Don't stop," he repeats, more softly. "Please."
It's the please that does it. They way his voice wraps around the word like an embrace, hopeful and pleading. Rey feels a shiver run down her spine.OR
V apparently has a massive breeding kink, and she needed to get it out of her system. Not only does she now excusively talk about herself in the third person, but she is also very very sorry.

Sometimes, Rey thinks she should just abandon ship entirely, and give up on forging a friendship. But then she thinks about Mr. Darcy and the unfair treatment he endured, and remembers Poe’s words about Ben’s past, and all the rest of her is committed to getting on well with her surly roommate.
