Summary
Conset can't believe her eyes. Out before her, standing idly in the cold, is a child. Young, somewhere in an elementary range, barefoot. In the frigid months like this, Thristas is always covered in a thick, powdery blanket of snow, and yet this girl is bare apart from a beige dress that hangs loosely around her form, clearly too big and carelessly given. Words aren't exchanged between them before her wife is striding up to the small child, though with enough hesitation to give this kid the chance to run if she wants. Despite the opportunity, she just clutches at her own chest with rosy-cold hands, a static look on her face.
“Hello, little one.” Akasha soothes, crouching down a couple paces from the girl. She holds out her hands as a gesture of kindness—what she doesn't expect is for the girl to walk through the space given for safety, offering her hands to the witch. “My name is Akasha.” She continues, “What's yours?”
Instead of coming out with a sure answer, the pair watch as her lips twitch, as if she's figuring out how to vocalise at all.

Summary
“Go away.” She hears, not at all sounding like the Agott she spends her days with. Not a single note of pain crosses her heart at the blunt disregard, especially not when Agott has admitted she will never, ever be rude to Coco again—this, undeniably, is an attempt to safeguard her rather than chase her away out of pure malice. Right now, just about anyone would be able to suss out that this apprentice is sick, without a shadow of a doubt.
“Absolutely not,” Coco speaks plainly, immediately moving to perch on the edge of the bed that she can see is vacant of Agott’s sprawled body. “You're sick, aren't you? No way am I leaving you by yourself.”

Certain things have come and gone, problems, disagreements, and obligations as witches—but the two of them are as strong as ever, bound together like a tightly coiled knot of string that not even a pin could ease loose.
In more recent times, however, a development has come about. An extra pair of feet that tip-tap about the atelier.
“Qiqi,” Agott calls out, an affectionate nickname on her lips. Although it isn't the official name given to the young girl that often pitter-patters about their home, it is the alias she finds sitting readily atop her tongue whenever curly green hair comes into frame. “Qiqi, honey, come out. We're not playing hide and seek any more."

Summary
The shattering of glass above her screams danger as she throws herself flat in the gravity stream to look up at what's causing such a ruckus, only to see two silhouettes and a storm of jagged glass from the shattered window shooting her way.
Time stills. Looking up at the glare of the midday sun, now unshielded by the sunroof, Agott's eyes strain, and yet she perseveres by peering through at the shadowy figures looming above. One petrifying thing about their forms comsumes the air in her lungs as she readies herself to scream, a silent plea running through her mind for her mother to hear, some fifty floors away.

Summary
It had been two days since they'd been beaten, bruised and bloody and within an inch of their lives by Cinder and Neo.
And it had been a day since Blake caught a glimpse of a bruise by Yang's collarbone that she'd masterfully hidden with her bandana, only noticeable when jostled during the Jabberwalker fight.
It had been mere hours since their time together in the punderstorm solidified their feelings for one another. Even despite how gleeful, how overjoyed it had made them both, the sight of those bruises still rung clear in her mind.
So, after many attempts to get Yang to open up and let her help, Blake finally gets through to her. A much-needed conversation shortly follows.

Agott’s eyes flicked to her hands, then back, brow still drawn. “What are you doing?”
Tetia lowered her arms a little. “It’s— it’s a hug? You know what a hug is, right?”
She was joking. Mostly. But Agott’s shoulders were starting to hunch up like a drawbridge retracting over a moat; Tetia didn’t want to watch those walls go up all over again when she’d made so much progress. It was hard enough drawing Agott out of her shell.
She changed her question. “Have you… had a hug before?”
Agott opened her mouth, all bright indignation, but then she hesitated. No one should ever, ever hesitate to answer that question, Tetia thought.
