Summary
When Jake notices the company John has been keeping, he immediately becomes fearful for his cousin's safety.
Demons are selfish. Demons are violent. Demons are quick to take advantage of humans, and he'll be damned if he let's his cousin fall prey to their whims. He's content to believe that they're all up to no good, but when Dirk shows up and throws a wrench in his plans, he might have to reevaluate his opinion on them. And maybe, just maybe, realize some other important things along the way.

Summary
John’s next words were incomprehensible to the vampire. They stung his ears and set his mouth, throat, and chest on fire. Dave hissed and scrambled back, right off the couch. He landed on the floor in a heap of flailing limbs. He rolled to his hands and knees and gagged himself. After throwing up the blood, the intensity of the flames inside him dropped. The pain was still enough to leave him curled up on his side, clutching his chest.
Dave froze. Something hard and sharp pressed against his throat, burning his skin despite being the same temperature as him.
“Give me one reason I shouldn’t kill you.”

Summary
Ever since he came to college, Dirk has been having the same nightmare, one where he is being chased in the dark with no idea as to who, or what is following him. But they’re just dreams, right? His roommate, Horuss, can just wake him up when they get bad. But Horuss isn’t always going to be there to wake him up, and when that happens, who knows how far into the dream he’ll go.
