“We aren’t frightened,” you murmur, hand gliding up Luigi’s thigh. You turn to him. “Are we?”
He looks at you, looks you in the eyes, for the first proper time tonight.
He turns to Galli. “We aren’t,” he clarifies, voice soft, uncertain, still welcoming. “But what kind of company were you looking for?”
“You like to unravel things, Luigi,” Galli proposes, setting his wine glass on the nightstand. “Perhaps the three of us could unravel together. Would you all like that? With me?”
This time, you and Luigi don’t look at each other.
You nod. Without thought, you nod."
