It seemed like such a selfish request – don’t tell the kids so they’re not scared to fly to away games – but their lives with four kids were already so chaotic, that this thing that’s happened to them doesn’t need to filter out to everyday life more than it already will.
“An accident is an oopsy,” Ruby says. She looks at Jackie as if to say, what is your idiot husband saying now?
