Summary
Doyoung has always had a complicated relationship with the rain.
He says he hates it – really hates it. The clingy, humid air that makes his shirt stick to his back, the sky that turns the world a shade too gray, the puddles that find their way into his socks no matter how carefully he walks. Rain, to him, feels like a personal attack from the universe, soggy and uninvited.Yet he catches himself watching it fall, nose pressed lightly against the window like a child on the wrong side of a candy store. He wonders what it would be like to just step outside and let the rain have him. To feel the drops kiss his skin instead of flinch away from them. To dig his toes into the wet grass, to twirl like someone in a movie, to maybe kiss someone in the middle of a downpour.
He had that once.
Now, when it rains, Doyoung stays inside. The rain keeps falling, steady and indifferent, and Doyoung keeps holding on to something that probably should’ve washed away a long time ago.
