Summary
“You look beautiful. Don't marry him.”
“I hope you had fun today. Please be with me instead.”
So he said nothing. Instead, he took the long way, stretching the moment just to share the same air with her. It calmed him, knowing she wasn't getting married today — that for now she was with him, in his car, and he was taking care of her. That way, he could let his mind drift and imagine that she was running away with him on her wedding day, with her beautiful veil on and his leather jacket wrapped around her.
The evidence that she almost belonged to another, but ended up choosing him.
or Colin picks Penelope up from her hen party and the fact she is wearing a veil fucks him up a bit.

Summary
To Colin, the narrative is clear. The sweet sidekick best friend is going to end up with the main character, everyone will cheer, they'll all worship at the altar of a series well done and then beg their mum to let them start series five instead of going to bed. She'll almost immediately cave, allowing quick toilet breaks and re-fluffing of pillows (maybe even an exchange of blankets) before they all settle back into the cosy pile that is their Friday nights.
But here is the problem, and it's a problem that they have never had before when watching a film or show together: Penelope Featherington disagrees with him.
Disagrees. With him.
She seems irked every time he brings up the couple's very clear soulmatism, which is getting on Colin's nerves because he's right, and no matter what show they're watching, Penelope has always agreed before.
So what's different this time?

Summary
“Do you truly have to ask what I was doing the night before our wedding?” Colin spat, the bitterness in his tone ricocheting to lash out at them both. “I thought Lady Whistledown knew what happens everywhere in London?”
Penelope's breath caught audibly, but she said nothing, just staring at him, wide-eyed and wary.
Colin tilted his head, his voice turning mocking—cruel in a way he knew he’d regret but could not contain. “Surely the carnal customs of a stag night at White’s have not escaped her ears?”
It was a bitter conjecture, one he did not truly mean, but it was also a test. And from the way her face paled, the look of utter agony that crossed her countenance, he wished he had not posed it.
A reimagining of Season 3, Episode 7’s wedding-eve confrontation, packed with angst, passion, and steamy moments. What if that purported scene involving prostitutes had not been cut? What if we could hear what Colin says to Penelope during their kiss? What if we'd had more time to let the original script's dialogue breathe and make sense? After months of post-season 3 polin brain rot, this is my labor of love.
