The heart and intention this series is written with make it such a rewarding read. And the detail woven into the world (especially Rohan)?!
But Gríma doesn’t know how to explain that the reason every surface is richly decorated in Éomarc is to convey the spirits — of the wood and stone, the columns and walls, the arches, beams, roofs, floors — not to mention those of animals, people, the wights and gods.
And this does not include the temporary spirits that renew themselves every day: dew on the grass, rain puddles, icicles chewed on by children playing truant from their apprenticeships, wind, fire, embers, clipped hair before it’s burned, breath held in lungs, a song, the note of a lute captured for a second in the ear before it disappears.
How bland the world must be for those who do not know these things and cannot see them.

This and its sequel 'and reclamation' are absolutely beautiful, and immediately fell into the realm of my favourites of any fandom, let alone Arcane. Such a grounded and aching imagining of what it would mean for Jayce –- and most especially Viktor –- to have survived the events of the series finale. Also, I cannot say enough how much I adored Mel in these. I hope the third part from her perspective comes into being one day.

Exactly what I wanted from a story like this. Every character rang true but Sevika stole the show for me, and I couldn't get enough of the unlikely camaraderie between her and Vi.
