    Then you get to know him and, you think, maybe he’s not so conceited or ignorant or unthoughtful. To your absolute dread, he’s quite the opposite.

He decides to put his own twist on it, pulling an account from his childhood. “When I was younger, my over-glorified nanny used to put me in the corner to think about what I’ve done. She used the word ‘reflecting.’”

    “Like a time out?” Geto interjects. “Sounds just like you.”

    “I’m not finished.”
