“Of course,” Jaehyun says. He likes to know when his friends might need time, space, and supplies to get through their heats and ruts. “Like I said, feel free to text if you need anything.”
There’s a softness to Yuta’s face when he smiles. “Sure, thanks Jae.”
“No problem.” Jaehyun grins.
He makes the same offer to both Ten and Mark a week later which, when he looks back later, is the start of everything going terribly, horribly wrong.

11 years. It's a long time to know someone, to spend with them. He cares about Jongseong, feels hurt and destroyed at the fact that maybe they're growing apart. He doesn't want to lose Jongseong, not even for a moment. Doesn't want to miss the kisses, the concern Jongseong shows him and that he feels touched to be able to show Jongseong.
Jongseong, the other members, they're Heeseung's daily point of stability and Heeseung misses Jongseong. Misses the way Jongseong cared about him, loved him. Misses the press of Jongseong's lips against his, the soft curve of his smile when he said, "goodnight, hyung."

At the celebration feast, Nilou asked Cyno if he would be happy continuing to be the General Mahamatra.
Cyno said, “It’s not about being happy. There are merely a lot of things that I must do.”
Alhaitham can’t say for certain why Cyno’s words bothered him. In a way, the sentiment is unsurprising; Cyno is, after all, dutiful to a fault. It makes sense that he puts his work over himself. Even so, Alhaitham wonders what the shape of Cyno’s happiness would be, if he allowed it to take form. If he ever allowed someone like Alhaitham to witness it.
Which he certainly never would.

Some glowing embers from the fire remained, providing the barest of light sources. Just enough for him to get a sense of his surroundings, and for him to see—

On the rare days Diluc Ragnvindr considered himself a brother at all, he wouldn’t exactly say he was a good one.
When it came to being a future brother-in-law even less so, which is exactly why it took him by surprise when Albedo came knocking on his door that day, looking frantic.
‘What—’
‘It’s Kaeya.’ Albedo brought out, still trying to catch his breath. It was almost as if he’d run here all the way from Dragonspine, the wet spots on his clothes looking suspiciously much like those caused by melted snow.
At the mention of Kaeya’s name, Diluc tensed.
‘He’s-…he’s in trouble, we have to-…’
‘Slow down.’ Diluc spoke, sounding much calmer than he felt. ‘Come inside for a moment, then we can discuss what that idiot has gotten himself into now.’
‘There’s no time.’ Albedo argued. ‘He was supposed to come visit me on Dragonspine today, but a severe avalanche hit and I-…I don’t know if he’s-…’
Diluc sucked in a sharp breath.
‘You don’t know if he was caught in it or not.’

Or: Kaeya gets caught in an avalanche at Dragonspine, but thankfully has a lot of people that care for him, including a human furnace for a brother.
