If the GPDA notes were to be believed, only champions had ever received wings after the final race of the season, exclusively in the manageable size described in Seb's notes, like Lando's, in FIA-sanctioned colours. There was no recorded incident of any kind of deviation, but then. Things were not always recorded for a reason, and George had gradually learned that the absence of a thing in the official record keeping held a very different kind of weight.
Still, moments trickled back to George from the second half of the season. Horner's sacking, Red Bull's almost miraculous comeback, Max hunting other cars down for pole positions and podiums. Red Bull gives you wings. The team had, in horrible irony, seemed to have somehow manifested their tagline. Max had embodied that team in a way that had been awesome and terrible to see.

kyo tips his head back. a soft breeze rustles through the grass, bringing with it the damp, green scent of new growth. the ground is dappled with late afternoon sunlight peeking through the branches and the leaves above. he can hear the campers down at the lake, laughing and screaming as they play in the water.
die shifts on the soft grass with a groan, drawing kyo's attention. a burgeoning sunburn colours his cheeks and on the tip of his nose and makes him look almost like he's blushing. he blinks his eyes open, squinting in the light, his brow furrowed. as kyo clears his throat, die tips his head to look over at him. if he's surprised to see kyo there, it doesn't show.

Die doesn't wait for Kaoru to leave before reaching out for Kyo's hand and dragging him back into Die's bedroom. He pushes the door shut, and Kyo swallows, looking up at him with his eyebrows lifted. Die blushes again and says, "Hi."
"Hi," Kyo echoes. His stupid platform boots, he notices, give him enough height that he only has to tip his head up to graze his lips over Die's. Maybe he'll keep these, at least. "So, what about this does it for you?" Die makes a sound in the back of his throat, his hands tangling in the skirt of the dress. "The high collar gets you weak in the knees, huh? Or is it the cheap little ribbon belt?"
