Summary
Thomas was a very innovative scientist who worked with his fiancé to learn more about the human body. However, even attempting to manipulate Joe's DNA was a very, VERY bad idea. Everything went awry and now, Thomas lives all alone in his lair on Mt. Bobo alone. Where he created a monster of a fiancé, and an even bigger mess, leading to townsfolk getting infected left and right. Why on Globe would he do this?
He just wanted to feel closer to his lifelong companion, but even that fell through.

Black Hat thrust out his hand and unclenched it, revealing a sprig of a charred plant laying in his palm. "What, pray tell, is Demencia doing hanging mistletoe everywhere?"
The obvious answer was that Demencia wanted to catch him under the mistletoe and kiss him. She wouldn't have bothered with it otherwise. But that was also the simplest answer, and the one most likely to worsen Black Hat's mood, which would probably end with him getting thrown at a wall. Probably. Still, he wasn't willing to risk that. So instead he combed through his knowledge to find something that might appease Black Hat.
"Mistletoe, you say?" he stood up from his chair and crossed the distance between him and his boss, leaving about half a metre between them. "Well sir, mistletoe is a parasitic plant. Its berries are poisonous."

"I will EAT when we reach the city."
"There isn't any city! The closest one is but 100 miles away from us an-and..Sir I'm afraid you won't make it till then." Flug got closer to the demon that was heaving on the floor. He watched as BlackHat's arms trembled. His mouth still spitting green acid to the dirt.
Flug swallowed before saying what they've both been dreading. Raising his arm as he pulled his sleeve up his elbow, he took another step closer.
"Y-you need to eat -"
"I WONT EAT YOU!" He snarled as he took a step back.
