Summary

When Daisy, one of his twin sisters, has a hard time managing her grief and turns to dangerous coping strategies, Louis brings her to Safe Harbor to work with Harry, at his wits end and unsure of how to help her heal. In the following weeks, lines are crossed, feelings develop, and they both find something in the other that they never knew they needed.

"What..." Louis’s smile faltered, his eyebrows knitting together. He reached up, caressing Harry’s cheek, his thumb trembling. "Where’s... where’s your ring, Haz?"
Harry didn't lean into the touch. He stood perfectly still, his eyes filled with a sudden, devastating pity. He gently took Louis’s wrist and pulled Louis's hand away from his face.
"I haven’t been wearing it for a long time, Louis," Harry said softly.
Louis stilled, the air in his lungs suddenly turning to ice. "What do you mean?"
Harry sighed, a heavy, ragged sound, and stepped back into the hallway, creating a cruel, foot-wide chasm between them. He looked at Louis, his face pale under the hallway light.
"I'm engaged to Zoe," Harry said.
The words didn't make sense. They didn't fit into the room. Louis let out a sharp, incredulous laugh, shaking his head. "What? For the PR, right? Right, Haz? Well—well, you can just break it off. There’s no contract we can’t buy out. I just settled mine, we can—"
"No, Louis," Harry interrupted, his voice steady, dropping like lead weights into the quiet house. "Not PR. I proposed to her."
