Summary
The room moves around him, nurses in and out to check on his progress and remove his IV. A new doctor comes in with discharge papers, instructions about PT that Hollander studiously writes down. Ilya lets himself be moved and nods when it seems appropriate. But he hears none of it. The blood rushes through his ears and one word echoes in his chest over and over again. Husband.
In 2025, Ilya suffers a hit on the ice and wakes up in the hospital. Shane Hollander is there, holding his hand. But the last thing Ilya remembers is a tuna melt (aaaaaaand Rose Landry).

A silly little one-shot because I couldn't get a bloody Hollanov hook up out of my mind. Set at the All-Stars game in Tampa 2017, in an AU where Rose hasn't broken up with Shane yet, Alexei has flown to Florida to confront Ilya about not answering his calls, and Hollanov haven't laid eyes on each other in person since the club. There's fun hockey with a lot of innuendo! Then when Shane sees how Alexei treats Ilya, he goes feral. Yes, Shane walks Ilya like a dog but never forget that this kitten's got teeth, too.

Continuation of episode 4/the club scene:
“If I was dancing with you,” Ilya crowds Shane against the wall, hands coming up against the wall caging Shane in. “Would you let me push boring shirt up and run my hands all over you.” He leans in closer, ducking his head to look Shane straight on. He can feel Ilya’s breath on his face, the smell of vodka on his tongue.
Shane’s heart is racing. It’s been so long since he’s been this close to Ilya off the ice. They’ve gone longer, but for some reason it’s felt like an eternity.
“What are you…”
“Would you tip your head back from the feeling of my hands running over your body?” He leans in further till his lips are ghosting over Shane’s ear, sending a shiver down his spine. “Would you let me kiss you? Suck on your neck?”
“Rozanov,” Shane says as a warning that doesn’t carry one ounce of authority because it sounds more like a whimper than anything else.
They shouldn’t be doing this. Shane shouldn’t be doing this. He left Ilya’s house that day for a reason.
Shane has a girlfriend.
They can’t be doing this.

Later, Rozanov slams him into the boards. He stays pressed up against Shane for a moment too long, then speaks in a lowered voice.
“I didn’t tell you the best bit. Her name is Jane.”
Ilya starts dating a woman called Jane. This sets off a chaotic chain of events featuring jealousy, sexting, miscommunication and a whole lot of bad ideas.
