Then Caitlyn’s gaze flicked down, and Vi knew. She knew she’d seen the shape. The curve. The something-that-shouldn’t-be-there-but-god-she-wanted-it-to-be.
For a half-second, Vi waited for the question. The awkward pause. The subtle shift of energy that always made her wish she could peel her own skin off and start over.
It never came.
Instead, Caitlyn leaned in, lips ghosting her ear. “Mmh,” she murmured, low enough that Vi felt it in her spine. “So that’s what you’ve been hiding from me.”
Vi’s pulse thudded hard in her ears. “Cait—”
