Summary
When pressed upon to mate for a political alliance, Commander Castiel dares to refuse his king. As “I do not wish to mate at all” is clearly the wrong thing to say, Castiel takes the other path and lies. “You must know my affections lie elsewhere, my king.”
King Michael studies Castiel’s face long and hard. Then, with a nod, he snaps his fingers, pointing to Castiel. “The Winchester omega.”
“Yes,” Castiel says with no real recollection of who that is.
The ruse of an unavailable omega works well enough, right up until that omega is no longer unavailable. Then, with what seems to be his entire nation cheering him on toward victory, Castiel must enter the melee to win his mate. Backed by allies, training, and his own natural talents, the only question is how well he can contrive to fail.

Probably just going to bookmark everything by Ben?? Castiel is so canny, and kind, and strategic in this. The identity stuff is well-executed and fun. The medieval-style society is amazingly round, like all of Ben's worldbuilding.

Summary
This thing Dean has going on with Crowley, it's really not a big deal. Yeah, he's hiding it from his friends and family, but he hardly has to tell them about everyone he ever sleeps with. After all, it’s only straightforward, morally dubious fun. It’s just sex.
Which is why Crowley giving him the sweater comes as something of a surprise.

Cas thinks he's in a heist story. Dean thinks he's in a romance. Incredible subtle writing, characterization, dramatic irony. Cas and Dean are clearly two species with different cultures, and an excellent take on Castiel's fall. Lots of plot. I always want to read this in one sitting, absurd as it is, and then I have a fic hangover.

Summary
In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon’s designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. When the time comes to move out, however, Castiel has to reconcile himself to the fact that men are going to go down and trust that Dean Winchester may well be the only person who can put them back together again.
