Summary
Jecka was losing her damned mind.
She'd already had her 'sexuality crisis', more or less. She figured out her shit, put it to bed, and that should've been the end of it. Of course, it wasn't. She wasn't really questioning anything, no, that would've been much easier. So much more simple to deal with and understand and test and poke around. That would have been fine! That would have been normal, and reasonable, and understandable.
Naturally, Jecka just had to develop a 'Nicole Crisis'.
Which, on paper, was a complete nightmare and disaster of an idea. She could do better! So much better, and it sure sucked that she didn't want to do better than the most gorgeous, vicious, horrifying, confident, and addictive monster she'd ever met or would meet. And she knew, she absolutely knew that this was going to crash and burn instantly with zero hope of either of them living through the night.
If only feelings were rational.

Lestat left early to hunt. Claudia was of an age now that she no longer needed a protector on the safe-to-them streets of New Orleans, and he had a packed schedule—dinner, dessert, nightcap. He’d killed a young factory worker on the way home from shift without so much as a thought, then been off to Antoinette’s. It was a shame she’d stopped singing. His life would be a bit more socially balanced if she were.
Or: Cheating feels bad. This might feel worse.

“Guess now Dimitri can freak out about the coronation instead,” Sylvain says. Felix makes a vague noise, like he’s done with talking, but Sylvain’s in a chatty mood. The war is over and Felix hasn’t insulted him yet this morning. Obviously it’s a day for miracles. Might as well bring it up now. “Mm, maybe you can finally do something about the way you’re always looking at him.” Complex plans don’t really go well with Felix grinding down against him, and anyway: with Felix, it’s usually just best to be straightforward.
Felix goes still above him. Sylvain slides a hand in his hair to try to pull him back down, but he won’t go. “Excuse me?”
“Oh, is this going to be a whole thing?” Sylvain asks. “Are we going to pretend you haven’t been head over heels for the guy since we were all the same height?”

It's also a character study in whether or not someone can be a genocidal mass-murder and a tsundere at the same time.
