At first, two voices floated in and out of Rai Dei's consciousness— one he knew better than the other. Was he hallucinating the name that inhuman anomaly, that man-shaped thing, referred to Chapel as?
If your solution is to kill... then stay out of this, Wolfwood. Rai Dei definitely heard that with clear ears. Even so, what of it if Chapel wasn't forthcoming about his identity? He was lying to both parties anyway. All the better to hunt down and eternally torture Vash the Stampede if he's psychologically out of sorts. No time to dwell on why anyone, let alone someone who works for Knives, dared to interfere with Rai Dei's pursuit.
Unless Chapel got in his way, which he had not prepared for.

Summary
Wolfwood stiffened when Vash tipped his head against his neck, as if affectionate, and sighed, "Did it hurt?" His temple felt too hot against Wolfwood's neck.
"Huh? Did what hurt?" Wolfwood questioned, wary of the oddly... warm and gooey look on Vash's face in his dark, surface-shine reflection.
Directly peeking over at Wolfwood's bare, unshielded eyes, Vash returned, "When you fell from heaven?"
At first, Wolfwood froze, mostly in confusion. The flush on his face flared hot enough to quickly melt that into irritation. How was Vash able to do that? Perfectly mimic the look in a man's eyes Wolfwood had seen dozens of times, right before they would ask him to sleep with them?

Summary
All Anya can hear is the fear in her breathing, her jackrabbiting, panicked pulse, and the dim electric buzz of the screens that surround her. Then, her eyes focus, and she makes out the figure sitting still at the head of her bed.
It's— herself. Anya, again. A mirror image that doesn't move with her as she shakily steps forward like she's in a trance, trying to make sense of what she's seeing.
"You're–" Her throat closes up as she notices the simulated stars shifting across the bridge of this other Anya's nose, briefly catching her mascara-thickened lashes with a glittering pixel of starlight. This is literally the version of herself she sees in the mirror when she gets ready in the morning made manifest, only this Anya looks... much more composed. How long has it been since her eyes looked that bright? She nearly forgot that the dark, sunken circles beneath her eyes haven't always been there.

How can he not get lost in the sight— watching Wolfwood eat a meal he made, changed into clean loungewear (which Vash soon will, tragically of course, have to either take off or make sweaty) and backlit angelically by the warm sun coming through the window of their back door. He never thought he could have this, this soft peak of domestic bliss. He is so lucky that it's with Wolfwood; he couldn't imagine giving his tomorrows to anyone else.
His longing gazes, of course, means Wolfwood finishes eating before him. "Hey, hurry it up." Standing up with his plate, Wolfwood trails his hand along Vash's shoulder as he passes him to wash his plate in the sink. "Your mouth is gonna get stuck like that. Plus, you don't wanna keep me waitin', do ya?" There's a soft hunger in his eyes as he gives Vash a long look, then heads towards their bedroom.

Summary
All the lights in the club switch to a cherry-bright red, and the song changes with it, pulsing like blood pumping into a heart. Wolfwood turns Vash's face towards him, and the urge to kiss him mounts so suddenly that his throat goes dry. From the way Vash glances between Wolfwood's lips and eyes, he's certain it's the same for him. He wants to lean in so badly, but that faint ring of alarm in his head stops him from going through with it.
"Love hotel," Wolfwood blurts out. Vash's hips stutter and stop. They stare at each other, Vash's glasses reflecting his mirrored expression of surprise. "After this, let's get a love hotel room. When we're there, I want you to–"
Wolfwood and Vash spend Halloween night together in Nichome. It's been a little while, so the night pulses with all kinds of excitement.
