The cashier smiled genuinely, but Stefon just dug the cash out of his pocket and tried to muster up a fake smile that looked more like a grimace. He made a strangled sound in his throat.
"Mhm..yeah something like that. Thanks. Keep the change."
He got out of there as quickly as possible, cursing himself out on the way home for not buying a pack of cigarettes anyway so Seth wouldn't know that he had lied.

It had been a rough day. The shop was packed all day, the breaks were quick and not enough. Hunting season was approaching and the men had found themselves in the busy season at the shop. Jimbo normally handled it smoothly, being naturally good with people and an even better salesman. But Ned tended to struggle on those busy days.
