Hamlet exhaled a huff of amusement, and without even looking up from his book, Horatio could tell Hamlet’s nose was crinkled up at the use of his title. Endearing, as always.
“You’ll stop that at once. You know better than to call me that in private.”
His tone implied annoyance, but Horatio knew better. The indignance was superficial at best, a complete facade at worst. It warmed Horatio to hear it.
“Do I?” Horatio continued. “If one walks like a prince, talks like a prince, even makes commands like a prince, what am I to call him?”
A beat.
“I’m sure you could think of something sweeter.”
