Nezuko came to a complete standstill, head tilted to the side. “Huh?” She tipped her head the other way, as if that would shake loose some kind of meaning. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“You know I gave Mother that rock yesterday,” Tanjiro said, feeling his face heat. “Father says it’s my bowering instincts and that I should follow my heart to know what to make for a bower gift and I saw that boar and now I have to carve a boar netsuke.” He buried his face in his hands.

Vash stood at the other end of the block. His face lay flat under a serious expression, and this time, orange sunglasses concealed those pretty eyes. He’d upgraded from a hoodie to a big coat, but it was still that same shade of red like flowers, like blood, like love.
Wolfwood had waited for this moment for a long, long time. As his body burned and was remade, he’d dreamed of what he’d do to Vash. He’d wondered what Vash would even say to him, if he’d apologize, if he’d tell Wolfwood I told you so, if he’d just crack open down to the bone with the force of that sad smile. With the serum still buzzing through his veins and shouting for blood, Wolfwood slowly raised Livio’s pistol until it pointed into Vash’s heart. Last time, he fell in love with Vash in one fell swoop; this time, he won’t give Vash the chance to make him fall again.

“My business is the pursuit of peace and love,” Vash says. Nicholas lets out a loud bray of laughter. “What?!"
Nicholas snickers, not even bothering to attempt politeness any longer. “Love and peace is a funny pursuit when you share a name with a man that’s shot so many bullets he’s earned sixty thousand Union dollars on his head."
Vash cocks his head at Nicholas, and his eyes wander down to the gun at Nicholas’ hip before flicking back upwards. “Ah, but Father,” he says piously, “I’m sure you know first-hand how the path of peace requires much of us all.”
Nicholas narrows his eyes and wishes for a cigar. Vash stares back with wide, innocent eyes. It’s infuriating; it’s delicious; it makes Nicholas want to prod at him until he finds what’s hidden underneath. Anybody could be fooled by that face, by that careful expression, by that deliberate and rehearsed body language, but Nicholas wasn’t anybody, and he wasn’t fooled.

Sabo and Ace are not looking at him, Chopper seems sorry and Serena is way too serious for his liking.

Summary
“What do they mean?” Luffy blinks round eyes up at him, his hair dripping water down his face.
Law wavers between answering him honestly, because lying to Luffy feels like a crime against humanity, and keeping his dark, sordid past to himself. “It’s a heart,” he deflects.
“You have many hearts,” Luffy observes. He pokes his right arm. “Are they for someone you loved?”
(What Luffy wants is what fate wants. Law will realise this firsthand, whether he wants to or not.)
