I didn’t go with your father but that was the night we met. He played the trumpet in the band they hired, and the rest was history. She giggled a little, and for a moment, Joel caught a glimpse of the girl she had been. People always said he looks more like her than his dad, but, on a day his parents were out at a friend’s place for bridge, he tried the dress on. Smoothing the bodice down, when he saw himself, well. He saw his mom staring back at him.
