He made another exaggeratedly pained noise as John pulled the hook he was holding from Arthur’s torso, tugging the thread taut.
“What?”
“Oh you’re doing it like that? Oh! He’s toast.”
“Then fucking help me, god damn it, Kayne!”
Kayne could’ve told the little king a number of things. He could’ve told him that helping wasn’t part of the deal. He could’ve laughed in his face and trudged away. But he simply stopped. He snapped away his bag of gardettos and crouched to lean over Arthur.
He could help him. He had the ability—the choice.
