“Aren’t you going to ask me who I am?” he says, but her smile disappears at that, eyes wide, full of trepidation, as she draws closer.
“No,” she says, voice quiet but still insistent. “I don’t want you to tell me all your titles.”
“What?” Jon manages, brow furrowing in confusion. She looks up at him, and for the first time, he sees fear in her eyes, apprehension, a little wariness. It makes her look so human, and Jon wonders how the magazines can ever reduce her down to the caricature they’re always selling.
“If you don’t tell me who you are, I don’t have to tell you who I am."
