Dex’s boots hitting the floor fills the silence as Matt slowly presses the barrel of the gun lengthwise against his scarred cheek. It isn’t hot enough to burn, but Dex can feel the pale pink mark it leaves as Matt moves to rest it gently against his temple.

The leather and kevlar fits him just this side of snug, the inch of give on Matt’s body not present on his paradoxically familiar form.
Dex thinks it might feel a little like coming home, if he had that sort of sentimentality. Matt had made him, after all, just as much as he’d been pushed by the Fisks— they couldn’t have come up with this character if they’d tried. Plus, it’s a newer suit. The blacked-out red that’s been haunting Dex’s dreams presses into his skin and leaves lines at his seams. “Proud of yourself, Dex?” gets growled in his ear, Matt’s grip tightening around his wrists. “This what you were going for? Are you done mouthing off?” Dex laughs into the mattress and shakes his head— he’d started a fight earlier, got on Matt’s nerves on purpose, and now he’s paying for it. Matt growls and yanks him up to standing, adding to the dizzy feeling that comes from getting thrown around. He gets pushed and pulled until he’s facing Matt, wrists still held, standing between Matt’s spread thighs on the cot.

Dex spoke like he had Matt all figured out, had stared into the abyss and seen a mirror.
Post DDBA S1; Dex searches for Matt after shooting him at the Gala, and finds him hiding out in an apartment across town. After breaking in, they have a conversation about what happened that night, leading to some repressed feelings coming out in the form of sex and violence.
