Spider-man and Daredevil cross a line one night, scuffing it so badly they can’t see where it used to lay. Soon enough, habits form that neither can break off. Habits that follow them into the daylight, when the suits are hung up and hidden. Peter and Spider-man, Matthew and Daredevil. As the two begin to blur, a new dynamic begins to emerge. One that quickly proves impossible to hide.

Peter’s brain is foggy with sickness but it clears away just enough for a realisation to dawn upon him then and there. “My academic decathlon trip,” he mumbles, feeling dread settle in the pit of his stomach along with the ache of his illness. “I forgot about that…”
There’s a pregnant pause. It’s broken when Clint all of a sudden doubles over, holding his hands to his stomach, cackling like a witch on laughing gas. “Your decathlon trip was a trip to your own fucking house?” he manages to get out. “That’s comedy gold, Pete. Sorry, but your life is so fucking funny.”
