Dying didn't hurt you, not as much as you expected. You'd killed plenty, and were prepared for it.
What took you by surprise was, after you opened your eyes, you were in unfamiliar territory. There were so many questions, so many differences. The only things that were the same was the shake in your hands, and the lack of words on your tongue. The crippling anxiety eating away at your sanity.
After some time, trying to find your bearings you realize if you don't figure out something fast, you're going to starve or succumb to the elements. The circus in town may be your only option. You heard there was an opening to feed the animals?

Cannibalism was only a resort for food, it was initially done out of desperation to not die of starvation. Wanting to fill your stomach with at least something to satisfy it. Back then, it was supposed to be a one time thing. Though as the years pass by, it was clear it was.. not going to be something that happened once. It was your only food source now, or well, the only food source that was appetising and fulfilling.

Ended on chapter 28 where Mc arrives home from the circus, after ticket taker invites him to bring star(monster child) to the circus. He arrives home and can't find star, he assumes that she is hiding under the bed. He goes into his room and a voice says "finally your alone" or something
