    Summary

Would Minho have sex with him? Would he want to? The thought turns Jisung’s stomach. He doesn’t want Minho to get the wrong idea about why he comes here, why he’s meeting up with him.

“I’m straight,” he blurts, without prompting, heartbeat heavy in his fingers, his cheeks, behind his eyes.

Minho twists around so that the chains of his swing are crossed, staring Jisung dead on with his eyebrows raised. “Um. Okay? I’m not trying to sleep with you.”

Shame burns deep in Jisung’s insides, through the cavity of his chest, between his bones. “I–I know,” he stutters. “I’m–” swallowing back bile, something sharp. “Sorry, I don’t know why I said that.”

“We want to take pairs of recently matched soulmates who haven’t met yet, cover their marks, and put them in a luxury villa for six weeks. The aim of the game is for contestants to figure out who their soulmate is through living together and going on dates.”

“And you want me to be a contestant?” Minho asks.

“That’s right,” the TV producer confirms. “There is over five billion won in it for whoever guesses correctly.”

Minho’s hand tightens around his phone. “Five billion?”

    -

Minho never envisioned he’d meet his soulmate through a reality TV show, of all things, but when he’s invited on Written in the Stars, a show in which the contestants need to figure out who their soulmate is through living together and dating one another, he figures he might as well give it a shot. He’ll come out of it knowing who his soulmate is and with a cash prize if he manages to guess correctly, and how hard can that be, really, to guess who’s the one for you? They’re your soulmate, after all.

    Summary

“Grief is the price of enduring love.”

Jisung freezes, letting the words fill him. “Say that again.”

Changbin turns to him, looking almost nervous. “I-“

“No, please say it again,” Jisung pleads.

“Grief. It’s the price of enduring love. Doesn’t it just mean that we were lucky enough to know and love someone so much that we’re this sad when they leave us? Isn’t that kind of beautiful?”

    ////////
Lee Minho passes away from cancer, leaving Jisung to pick up the pieces of his heart. When he meets Changbin at a group therapy for widowers, he starts to slowly put himself back together with a little help from the ghost of his husband.

The character death is for Minho, however, it happens before the start of the story. I just wanted to tag it in case you are sensitive to these topics. This story centers on healing and learning to love again!

    Summary

That was because, unlike others, there was something particularly peculiar about Lee Minho.

Despite being utterly alone in every other way fathomable to the human mind, he wasn’t ever truly alone. Not really.

That was because Lee Minho could speak to spirits.

Within the confines of this particular cemetery, the one he’d titled ‘his favourite graveyard’, lived a specific spirit, of whom Minho was irrevocably, impalpably infatuated with.

His name was Jisung. Just Jisung.

    Summary

When Minho went to buy groceries, he saw Jisung’s face on the cover of a magazine at checkout. Hands shaking, he picked it up. It was their newest issue. Jisung’s face was smooth, flawless. He looked perfect. He looked like a stranger. Minho was filled with the sudden urge to cry. He didn’t.

If Minho had to describe Jisung in one page, nothing in the magazine would’ve made the cut. Jisung was a force of nature. He was the storm and the sun after rain. He was stubborn and wonderful and kind. Minho loved him still and knew at that moment that he always would — in silence, in loneliness, through phone and TV screens.

My superstar, he thought, and tried to smile even as it felt like his heart was breaking all over again. Mine, and everyone else’s.
