Summary
He wasn’t meant to survive the end of the world. But he did.
After the Fourth Shinobi War leaves the world in ruins, Kakashi is forced to stake everything on an altered Hiraishin jutsu, stronger and more volatile than the original, created as a one-time gamble when there is no one else left. It was never meant to promise survival, only the chance to send someone back.
The people he failed are alive again. The future he came from no longer exists. Somewhere beneath this second chance, remnants of that ruined future have followed him back. And beneath the familiar surface of the world, something ancient and ruinous is beginning to stir.
As Kakashi struggles to navigate a second chance he never asked for, he’s drawn into secrets buried deeper than war or politics. The Hatake clan carries a long-forgotten history tied to powers that existed before chakra shaped the world, and something in Kakashi has begun to awaken in response.
Caught between grief, guilt, and bonds that refuse to stay buried, Kakashi is forced to confront the past, the people he lost, and the parts of himself he’s never truly understood. Because this time, saving the future may mean unearthing truths that should’ve remained hidden.

“Who are you? There are very few shinobi of your calibre that we don’t know about yet. Especially someone as old as yourself,” Little Kakashi demands.
“Yeah, you look even older than sensei,” mini-Rin chimes in from behind mini-Kakashi, crouching next to mini-Obito.
He’s a little offended. If Minato is considered old at twenty-three, then Kakashi is practically a fossil. Apparently, none of these kids understand the concept of living past like, fifteen.

Hatake Kakashi had honestly (and perhaps naively) thought he’d already hit his midlife crisis by the time he’s thirty-two. Being pushed into the Hokage hat after a war tended to do that to one.
But finding himself almost twenty years in the past (parallel universe/elaborate genjutsu/weird drug induced coma?) probably takes the cake for the most insane twist of fate.
OR: Kakashi wakes up twenty years in the past, with the chance to save all his loved ones from their deaths, and himself from tragedy.
