Summary
She knew in her heart that it was his scent, because despite being strong and imposing like the other two alpha’s, this one soothed her and gave her the urge to chase after it.
That urge has been in her since the moment she met him, long before either of them presented. That urge was the reason she was there, infiltrating his home in the hopes of seeing him. Wanting to check for herself if he was alright.
She has heard her mother discuss it with Varley, the reason Daphne was sent along with Eloise to her home, the reason Colin has stopped calling on Marina; he has gone into rut.
She would not have concerned herself much –other than sympathy for what she now knew what heats felt like, she hated to think of Colin dealing with those terrible cramps– if her mother hadn’t continued on her rant, hadn’t called him that word which implications she barely understood: feral.𓆩♡𓆪
Or: Freshly out of her first heat, Penelope overhears her dear friend Colin has fallen victim of the same malady and decides she would be the option to care for him, whether people agrees with her or not...

Summary
When Penelope wakes, blearily, she shifts to her opposite side in the uncomfortable hospital bed.
She sees him there, in the same place he has been for the last several days, from the moment she first awoke.
The man they say is her husband.
She knows this man; she has known him nearly her whole life.
But she does not know Colin Bridgerton as her husband.
An accident steals five years of Penelope's memory, leaving her baffled and confused as she tries to adjust to the life that is, apparently, hers—a life she had once dreamed of, no less. Colin is Colin, taking care of her every need, but maintaining a careful distance that has her wondering how he fell in love with her in the first place. But as they navigate the strange new world they find themselves in, and as bits and pieces of Penelope's memory return, she learns how it feels to be truly and wholly loved by Colin Bridgerton.
And how it feels to be betrayed by him.

Summary
“How could you?” Colin asks, voice faint, but slowly growing in volume as he continues. “You…everything you have written, all the lives you have destroyed…How could you?”
“I never meant to…” Penelope says, trialing off. She is shaking, her shoulders trembling and eyes filling with tears. “You do not understand, Colin—”
“—of course I do not understand,” He interjects quickly. “What is there to understand, Penelope? You…What you have done…”

Summary
"You are not a slave, you are not bound by chains," he says, grabbing the plate from the bed. "You are able to do as you please."
Whatever she wants? She can leave this room? She is not bound here? There will not be guards ordering her where to go? Or someone running after her the moment she steps away?
"There must be more."
"No," Colin shakes his head, placing the dish in the basin. "You will want for nothing here. That is all that is needed of you."
"There—there must be more to this," Penelope insist. "I must know why."
"You are to be my wife."
The one where Penelope Featherington is arranged to marry former Gladiator Colin Bridgerton.

Summary
The video finds her at two AM when the algorithm has decided she's vulnerable enough for spiritual content.
Write thirteen wishes, the woman on the screen instructs. One for each month of the coming year, plus one extra. And then, starting on the winter solstice, pull one each night and burn it. Release it to the universe. Trust that it will unfold without you clinging to it.
On New Year's Day, you'll have one wish left. That one is the one thing you are not delegating to the cosmos. The one thing you are committing to actually work toward.
It sounds like nonsense, but when Penelope is twenty-one and overwhelmed by life, the idea of outsourcing some decisions to the universe feels less like magical thinking and more like a legitimate coping mechanism.
At twenty-nine, she writes a wish that makes her hands shake so badly she can barely fold the paper:
I tell Colin how I feel.
