Eventually, right about the time they’re leaping over rooftops in Edgetown, Sabo gets ahold of himself enough to explain, all of it, starting with his shitty noble father showing up, agreeing to go with him to protect Ace and Luffy, but then the Bluejam crew keeping them as Sabo walked away and now there’s going to be a fire and he doesn’t know where his brothers are doesn’t know if they’re safe or okay or what-
“We’ll find ‘em, brat,” Garp rumbles, his grim tone somehow reassuring. “And then we’ll get all three of you back on the mountain, where you’ll be safe. Where you belong.”

“My new granddaughter!” Garp booms upon their arrival at Dawn Island, perhaps a week later, and if it weren’t for years of carefully practicing her stoic expressions, Robin's jaw would have dropped out of pure shock. “Gonna take her up the mountain this morning, but figured you wouldn’t mind sharing breakfast with us, Emi!”
“One does not simply share a meal with you, Garp,” the stern-faced woman in front of them states. “Besides which, it isn’t even six o’clock in the damn morning. I haven’t put the kettle on yet, let alone started making breakfast!” Her words only make the Vice Admiral laugh, though, and soon enough he and Robin are seated at the counter of a clean and rather pleasant looking bar.

Another version of Zoro — still taller than even his older self, Sanji grudgingly notes — is standing beside him, his arm stretched across Older Sanji’s back with a hand resting comfortably at his hip. As if it belongs there.
There is no way the universe is this cruel to him, is there?
