It's time for Grace to go home.
After terrible loss befalls Rocky at home, he decides to accompany Grace on his mission back to earth and leave Erid behind for good. But when unspeakable tragedy befalls Grace's best friend, he has to make a decision; let Rocky die, or let him live in a human body with all his memories and personality in tact.

Summary
Rocky has officially moved into Hail Mary with Grace, but he's still dealing with the aftereffects of living nearly fifty human years by himself. By chance, he finds himself singing with Grace, and it's clear Grace doesn't fully understand what that means for Eridians.
This story roughly follows the plot of both the book and the film, but Rocky and Grace's personalities are more reminiscent of the book. Furthermore, Rocky's speaking style closely follows the book, although his physical appearance is closer to his depiction in the film.

Grace was having a predicament.
He knew he was on the ace spectrum in some way; he knew this meant his view of sexuality and attraction were going to be different from the general populace; he knew that, even given those extenuating circumstances, anyone in their right mind would chalk these thoughts up to extended isolation. Yet, here he was, surprised and a little mortified at the realization that–
He wanted Rocky.
For Christ’s sake, he’s a rock! And an alien! A rock alien! He’d had some weird fictional crushes in the past, but this was out of hand. Not only was Rocky the most inhuman being he’d ever been interested in, he was real! He wanted to get down and dirty with a real life mineral!
