Summary
What is society? It’s a lie we tell ourselves to supress what we really are: Animals. A children’s fairy tale played out on the biggest stage there is, where every animal, from the lowest back alley market scum, to the high and mighty Beastar, wears a mask, puts on a façade, to maintain position, power, and peace.
This retelling of the Beastars story sees Louis attacked by Legosi in its opening act, follows them as they cross the threshold from student to adult life, and watches as they rankle with their growing feelings for one another in a world that disparages their love as dangerous and aberrant, as they explore, and challenge, the dark truths and failings of their society.
Let the façade fall.
