Summary
Levi is a demon raised in a religious town where his kind is raised to be the best they can be to the god they devote themselves to. Believing that being put here as a demon is a trial by God to see if they can avoid all sin in a form so impure; in the next life they’ll be reincarnated as an angel. This belief has been passed down for ages, and Levi holds to it strongly.
Until he meets Connor.
Connor is an angel, at least physically. When they first formed their friendship, he was beyond ecstatic to have a real angel by his side to be a guide to his next life. That quickly falls to pieces when Levi realizes that Connor is not all he shows to be on the outside. Connor’s true self is none resembling an angelic nature at all, as he is selfish, greedy, and enjoys partaking in other people’s misfortune constantly.
That realization sprouted a small theory that grew to a thought that Levi eventually could not convince himself was false. That he and Connor have swapped souls, born in the wrong bodies as an ultimate test. Their meeting was not coincidental, but destiny. His demonic urges are plagued with the dark desire to fulfill his God’s true message as he sees it— to get his real body back, one way or another.
