Summary
“Figured it out, have you?” Pantalone’s affected slur is gone. Behind the silver glitter of glass, his eyes are lucid—bright and hungry with promise.
“You!” Dottore rasps. “You drugged me!”
The wine stains Pantalone’s smile a deep red, a sanguine gash over a flash of white teeth. “On the contrary, my dear Doctor. I think you’ll find you drugged yourself. I merely recognized a profitable opportunity when I saw it.”
Dottore doses Pantalone’s wine. Pantalone reminds Dottore that he isn’t one to be underestimated.

Summary
As the Fatui's schemes progress towards the point of no return, Childe grows concerned with the Second Harbinger's suspicious behavior. Having a personal investment in the matter, he decides to do some investigating on his own. The Eleventh is no stranger to manhunts, but uncovering Dottore's true intentions will not be a simple task. How does one track down a man who is simultaneously everywhere and nowhere at once? And can one even be sure that they've found what they're looking for when they see it, in a situation where it's so easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees? Only one thing is immediately certain; the Doctor's many Segments certainly don't intend to make it easy for him.

Sick dottore lore + slutty childe
STOP CHAP 9 HURTS. and this is like too deep for me to comprehend :((
Okay after revisiting this fic and reading more seriously… this is an absolutely beautiful work of literature and the storytelling is just chefs kiss. There’s just so much nuance, complexity, and perspectives in this series… the plot is a thought experiment in and of itself, and I love how it’s as if the reader is also asked to sort out the nature of every Segment/motive and ponder their own perspective on the complexities of Dottores relationships? I want to read more fics through these sort of analytical active participation sort of lens LOL. Have I met enlightenment through dottochi?? it just gave me so much to think about… my brain chemistry just made a change for the better.
