The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. Summary
In the summer of 2016, longtime NHL rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov agree (against their better judgment) to star in a highly produced summer dating show. The premise is simple: each of them will live together for eight weeks and choose dates, challenges, and romantic prospects for each other, all in the name of finding love off the ice.
It’s meant to be easy money. Stupid television. Eight weeks of carefully manufactured heterosexual romance with women they barely know.
Instead, Shane realizes something about himself he’s spent years avoiding—and Ilya gets exactly what he’s always wanted: proximity, without the ice between them.
What begins as rivalry turns into something far more dangerous when the cameras turn off.

Shane can’t understand it. Ilya can’t understand it. No one knows who started it. But it’s happening.
After Ilya and Shane are outed, someone on the internet decides that Shane bagging “the dangerously sexy Russian bear” means that he’s a sex goddess (yes, a fucking godDESS) and a babygirl and a daddy and a walking, talking thirst trap and all sorts of other things Shane doesn’t even want to know about. It's embarrassing and it’s annoying and it’s really, really weird.
Luckily Shane and Ilya have Harris, Centaurs’ nice and savvy social media manager. Harris tries to keep the highspeed train on the rails, but the internet doesn’t get his memo. And when the free and welcoming atmosphere of his new team slowly lures the real Shane Hollander out of his shell, Harris’s plan falls flat on its face. And there’s a real danger that Harris himself might follow.

Summary

Or: the Boston Bears figure out Ilya and Shane's relationship first-and decide that instead of letting their captain move to Ottawa, they'll just kidnap his boyfriend instead. Shane Hollander would make a better Bear anyway.
