Summary
Park Jimin barely makes it into one of the country’s most elite arts universities on scholarship. His plan is simple: keep his head down, survive beside his best friend Taehyung, and try not to look as out of place as he feels.
That plan dies immediately after meeting Jeon Jungkook.
Campus famous, stupidly rich, and notoriously impossible to approach, Jungkook drifts through art school like he doesn’t even want to be there. Depending on who you ask, he’s either a secret genius or a complete asshole.And, apparently, Jimin’s new roommate.
But Jungkook seems just as unwilling to leave him alone as the anonymous artist whose work keeps appearing across the city overnight. These abstract murals hidden across alleyways and campus walls slowly become the only thing making university feel bearable.
Before long, Jimin becomes quietly obsessed with finding the artist behind them.
Unfortunately, he already hates him.

Comforting. Healing. Protective. Tender.
Consideration in the not-so-little little things. Shielding partner's name/business/'reputation' from slander. Protecting partner privacy, particularly from very real threats that accompany a public existence.Partner A is in the public eye, albeit not desperately or forcefully. Partner B is more of a homebody, tucked away and content. Partner A's fans/world uses their 'curiosity' to justify their invasiveness (yuck) and risk potentially compromising the new rhythm and safe spaces mutually established by A and B. A wants B in his entirety and B wants A without the threat to their safety, understandably so.
📝 Reader's Notes:
Thankfully in this fic, it is not Jungkook's friends or inner world causing the strain/rift but self-proclaimed fans who seem to have developed a parasocial relationship with him. I would have been more hesistant/less inclined to read had it been Jungkook's immediate circle consistently invading Jimin's safe spaces.Overall, I love that the message is very clear: the relationship is between the two of them and no one else. The only time Jungkook acknowledges external behaviours is when they begin very tangibly impacting Jimin. He addresses them every time without fail, despite his own deeply rooted sense of unease, but spares little attention otherwise. His intentions are clear from the beginning and he is not loud, boisterous, or otherwise attention-seeking in his desire to protect. He remains headstrong and reserved, only truly coming undone in front of Jimin, which I found to be both interesting and reassuring. They both navigate the fictitious realm with so much integrity, it makes me feel proud to read their story.

After a few minutes, Jungkook stirred and sat up. His voice was quiet, unsure. “You waited?”Jimin’s answer came after a pause, simple and true. “The café was still open, wasn’t it?”
Jungkook held the warm cup between his hands, thumb tracing the rim. He glanced up at Jimin, a hesitant smile flickering on his lips. “You make it feel different. Warmer.”
""I’m sorry.”
Jimin looks up, frowning. “For what?”
Jungkook’s reply is soft, a confession he can’t quite meet Jimin’s eyes for. “This is what happens around me.”
The words hang between them—guilt, exhaustion, the fear that he ruins peaceful things just by being.
Jimin locks the doors early. Not out of irritation, but protectiveness." The last line is what really made the scene for me. Jimin's subtle yet [already] unwaivering devotion to protecting himself, Jungkook, and the safety experienced within their little bubble.
"The old ache lingered, but a new tenderness bloomed quietly inside him, impossible to silence. It frightened him, how much he wanted, how much he feared wanting, and yet, beneath it all, something gentle and bright flickered stubbornly, urging him forward into the unknown." This reminded me of a very specific song (but I can't remember it atm so note to self update when you remember).
"He longed to reach out, to close the distance, but fear anchored him. Love had always made him vulnerable—too eager, too intense, always needing reassurance. Old wounds whispered that he was too much for anyone to bear. But something about Jungkook made hope flicker, fragile and persistent: maybe, this time, he could be enough. Maybe longing didn’t have to end in heartbreak." This and the subsequent two paragraphs tugged at my heartstrings. The yearning!! The consideration!! The restraint!!

Unfortunately for both of them, neither realizes how deep this goes until it is already too late to leave cleanly.

Initial few chapters started off strong and author's humour felt both natural and deeply relatable; however, the as the pace of updates increases minor changes in tone and flow are being felt/noted.
