James was halfway through meal prep for the week when his phone started ringing.
“Regulus?” He answered.
There was a pause.
“Uh, no. It’s me”
James blinked.
“Barty?”
“Unfortunately, yes. I think you should come pick up Regulus”
James straightened immediately.
“Why? What happened?”
Barty sighed.
“He accidentally stepped on a snail”
James stared at the wall.
“…He what?”
“He stepped on a snail,” Barty repeated patiently “By accident. He’s been crying about it for the last twenty minutes in the middle of the pavement, and now I think we’re organizing a funeral”
James closed his eyes.
“You cannot be serious”
