“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”

Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”

“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”

In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.

So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.

“Did you know I have our first five kisses recorded on camera?” Abed says conversationally at the dinner table one day. Except it isn’t dinnertime, it’s breakfast, and Troy is still rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He’s glad it’s a Saturday. He’s thinking about having a big bowl of cereal, something sugary, since Annie is out this morning and isn’t here to make her pancakes—

“Wait, what?” he says, turning to face Abed.

Or: Troy and Abed’s rocky relationship, told through five different (recorded) kisses, and then wrapped up with them watching them all.

The invitation tumbled from his lips before he could process it, before his brain could tally the risks or second-guess the leap. “Mel,” he said, his voice dropping to a very soft, deliberate murmur. “Do you want to stay awhile? I mean, the fireworks are about to start.”

Her eyes lit up with tentative surprise, wide and shimmering under the bright overhead light. “Really?”

“'Course,” Frank replied, as easily as breathing. His smile was steady now, warm as the promise of the show to come, even as his heart hammered against his ribs. “Wouldn’t want you to miss them.”

IN WHICH - Mel King and Frank Langdon’s usual carpool goes horribly wrong…
    -
    Reckless Driving By Lizzy McAlpine
    -
“What do we got?” Dr. Michael Robinavitch asks, running up to the gurney. He was just notified of a trauma coming in from Dana, the charge nurse, and was ready for action along with two others. He slips his stethoscope into his ears and feels around the patient’s chest. He takes a quick look at the patient.

“Car crash victim, car versus truck, launched through the window. Driver’s right behind us,” the medic says.

“Dana!” Robby yells. She points to Trauma 2 and they roll her in. They transfer her to the hospital bed and people frantically move around her. Just before Robby can join them, an EMT takes a hold of his arm and forces him to face her.

“Robby,” she says, motioning for him to follow her out of the chaos for a second. “There’s something you should know about this patient.”

“What is it? I don’t have much time. If you keep me here much longer there might not be a patient for me to save in there anymore.”

“It’s one of your own,” she reveals with bated breath.

    “What?”

    “It’s Melissa King.
