On Wednesday night-cum-Thursday morning after she’s finally finished eking out a somewhat coherent paper, Sol’s squatting in the cosmetics section of a sickly white-lit CU clutching a handful of face masks and trying to figure out which shade of lipstick will ‘illuminate her inner fire’ ala Ye-Seul when someone says overhead, “Go with ‘Rainbow Boogie’.”
“Because you’re such an expert?” Sol says, examining a tube labeled ‘SEXY SWAMP’.

Summary
It was simple. Ronan didn't like Adam living somewhere that wasn't the Barns, or St. Agnes, or Ronan's car or Ronan's bed. Homes that were within Ronan's reach, in one way or another.
Adam had looked two-toned all summer, studying glossy Harvard brochures and less glossy tuition and fee statements, oscillating between pre-disappointed and anticipatory. Suspended in something—in what, Ronan hadn't really known.
"I'm trying to be less pessimistic," Adam had said repeatedly. Something about embarking on a new chapter of his life.
He never smiled as he said it, and it always sounded like a lie, the kind that charmed Ronan in its familiar cynicism. Ronan felt like he was more honest in his fear of what came next. That was very different from speaking it aloud.

"I like it," Adam said. He threaded his hand through Ronan's hair. Once he had a good grip, he tugged.
Ronan lurched in Adam's lap, eyes closing as his head tipped back. "Fuck."
He watched Ronan's face pinken, nearly as pink as his mouth. Adam could only think of Ronan's clothes coming off, the rest of his body turning that same shade. A grin spread across his face.
"I really like it," he said.
or: After stopping the apocalypse, Ronan and Adam spend the night in Boston. Adam discovers that Ronan's hair grew while he slept. They make up for lost time.
