Summary
Shane Hollander does not believe in ghosts. But he owns a bed and breakfast in a regional tourism economy centered around a haunted historic mansion, so he grits his teeth and tolerates the lack of scientific reasoning.
His belief is tested when he sustains a concussion and wakes up in 1897.
His belief is further tested when Ilya Rozanov, the man responsible for building said mansion, turns out to be hotter than his portrait, gives Shane the best kiss of his life, and then dies.

Basically a very self-indulgent fic about how hard it would be for Ilya to actually move on from the pain of the past and to go no contact with his family in a timeline where Grigori is still alive. Also, Ilya deserves to be known and loved by more people than just Shane and Sveta. Forced/Found Family here we come.
