“Oh, so now you’re saying you wouldn’t want to kiss me, huh? Am I that insufferable, that you can’t stand being so close to me for even seven minutes?”
He feels Alhaitham shift again. “Kaveh—”
“Yes, I know how you feel about me, Alhaitham, I don’t need you to say it. I’m loud, I’m a mess, my career is stagnant and my life is in shambles, so why would you ever be interested in me?”
“Kaveh—” Alhaitham says again, and his tone is sharper, weighed by a warning of some kind. Not that Kaveh notices, of course.
“But don’t you worry, you won’t have to tolerate me for much longer, before you know it I’ll be out of your house and you’ll never have to see me again, much less kiss me—”
Alhaitham kisses Kaveh.
