Summary
Steven shrugged at that question before popping another cauliflower floret into his mouth to crunch on it mindlessly for a moment. Jake waited patiently. The aura between them was filled with warmth; they stood a short distance apart, almost able to sense the gusts of air exhaled into the space between them, their scents mingling - sweet caramel apple with tobacco musk, while they glanced at each other with a look of gentleness, devoid of any pretension. Two souls searching for their place in the universe, two parts of a heart yearning for the third, two complete opposites somehow drawn to each other, alone in their struggle against the bad.
Basically:
Marc is gone.
Steven wants to start over.
Jake yearns for Marc and fights his own envy towards Steven.Steven wants to build his very own life from scratch. However, when they’re split, there’s a little surprise awaiting. Turns out Marc had more than one alter. His name is Jake, he speaks Spanish and wears flat caps. Steven convinces him to stay with him and in between Moon Knight’s missions, he discovers that Jake is fond of sun-dried tomatoes and toying with Steven’s rings.

„If I could perhaps complete it,” was what Jake blurted out, uncertainty staining his cheeks with a faint blush. „The triangle, I mean. Of us,” he then added, clearing up what could otherwise go unnoticed.

Steven is refusing to sleep at night again, but this time he also doesn’t want to front during the day, so Marc has to cover for him at work, running on little to no sleep every day, straining his voice on -quite bad- British soft accent. If that wasn’t enough, there’s this third alter still actively moon knighting without the other two knowing. All this leaves the body completely exhausted and, well, on the edge of falling apart.

Summary
It had been a quiet night in the apartment. Steven was lounging on his sofa watching TV with the volume low so as to not bother his partners because it seems that Steven's head mates/boyfriends were away, or perhaps they both had fallen asleep. Steven's documentary usually had that effect on those two.
Around 11 at night is when Steven began to get a little restless about the lack of activity going on. Though he didn't want to disturb his partners wherever they were or whatever they were doing, he decided he wanted to go out and indulge in a few drinks.
Or: Steven takes 4 strangers to a motel to pound the living hell out of him when Marc and Jake find out and degrade him (lovingly) for it.

Marc takes Steven to the aquarium on a normal Thursday afternoon.
Steven peers up at a fish–some kind of guppy, apparently–and smiles. His hands are on the glass, soft palms pressed onto the cold surface. He has a smile that appears only when he thinks no one is looking.
Marc looks, though. All the time. He looks at Steven’s tousled hair, his crooked glasses, the small crumb on the corner of his lip from the vegan cookie he demanded to try on their way to the aquarium.
I love you, Marc thinks.
“You’ve got something on your face,” he says instead.
or: marc is in love with steven but is too afraid to say it. he manages, in the end.
