Summary
“I think this might qualify as torture,” Robin moans just over halfway through their last shift of the week, eyes rimmed in red and the circles under her eyes darker than ever. Steve blinks at her stupidly from where he is standing behind the bar, the heat from the coffee machines warming his back and drawing him towards that place between sleep and waking. His arms feel heavy.
“And we’ve actually been tortured, so we’d know,” Steve nods sagely, because it’s not funny but if he keeps making jokes about it maybe it will eventually become funny.
“At least the Russians let us pass out between rounds of terror and intimidation,” Robin muses.
“And punching,” Steve continues.

In the aftermath of Vecna, Hawkins reels. Even without fully understanding the magnitude of what happened (almost happened) there's a long road back to anything approaching normal. The fissures, the property damage, the injuries. It seems impossible that after everything they've been through, that life just has to...go on.
But hey - they're old hats at this by now.
So of course Steve Harrington survives the (almost) end of the world just to have to work the night-shift at a fucking Denny's.

Summary
Eddie wakes from a nightmare about the bats. Again.
About a week ago, Steve Harrington gave him his number with instructions to call if he needed anything. Said number is tacked on Eddie's wall under his Anthrax poster.

-Steve H.But it's 3:17 a.m. and Eddie probably shouldn't call. Definitely shouldn't call.
(Eddie calls.)

Summary
Eddie remembered nothing, and then he remembered Steve. His voice. His hands. Bits and pieces of scattered stimuli, coming to him like microbes on a blurry microscope.
He found out, later, that it had been Steve who had hauled him off the ground, and had dragged his warm corpse back from hell. It had been Steve to deliver compressions until he’d miraculously made it to the ambulance, and it had even been Steve who’d driven Wayne to the ICU afterwards.
Then he kept sticking around.
A casual hookup. Two. Three. Now they fuck every other weekend and Eddie couldn’t ignore the way it was making him feel. It was lovely, he felt so sweet, he’s a willing plum ready to rot in Steve’s careful hands. Steve would enjoy him and treasure him and lick his mouth clean after every bite— but this wasn’t made to last.

Summary
Scoops Ahoy.
America’s favorite place to cool down, and quite possibly the lamest summer job under the blazing Indiana sun.
Especially if you were former High School royalty, brutally rejected by each and every university you’d applied to and promptly cut off by your shitty parents in an effort to teach: “some goddamned responsibility.”
Between accidentally intercepted secret Russian communications, a meddling preteen matchmaker with no collarbones, and increased proximity with Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson, a measly $3 an hour plus tips is nowhere near enough to deal.

Summary
“Bada-boom!” Dustin smacks a card down on the table in front of Eddie.
Nose wrinkling, Eddie picks up the card. “What is this?”
“The answer to your problems. It’s a paranormal research club here on campus."
Mike groans. “Dustin, no.”
~
Weird things keep happening in Wayne and Eddie’s new place. Fortunately Dustin knows someone that can help. Unfortunately that someone is Steve Harrington.
Eddie doesn’t know who the bigger skeptic is: Steve, the guy who doesn’t believe in ghosts. Or, Eddie, who doesn’t believe in Steve.

I don't typically go for these sorts of canon divergence stories but these characters are so well fleshed out and the relationship develops so nicely I found myself very pleased with it!

Summary
Steve’s visions might be disjointed, confusing, and generally a pain in the ass, but they did help him save Barb Holland. So when he has a new vision -- one that shows Bob Newby's death -- he knows he can’t ignore it.
Unfortunately, whatever’s creeping back into Hawkins isn’t waiting around for Steve to figure things out. The Upside Down is spreading, something is very wrong with both Will and Barb, and the demogorgons are definitely not done with them yet.
Now, Steve and his growing group of friends have to try to stop it before things get even worse. Which would be easier if Steve wasn’t also freaking out about the fact that he probably likes boys, and he definitely likes Eddie Munson.
Barb, meanwhile, is having plenty issues of her own, like terrifying hallucinations of the Upside Down, and even worse – an unrequited crush on her best friend.
