You shook your head violently. “It was exactly what I wanted from you. Besides, you warned me you might hurt me, intentionally or unintentionally, and I said that it was fine.”
His expression remained hard, unchanged.
“Vergil”, you said calmly. “I told you that I am not afraid of you.”
You could see his throat bop with a thick swallow. “Well, maybe I am afraid of you.”
“Of me?”, you asked incredulously. “Why would you be afraid of me?”
