Summary
It has been since first year: this delirious want suffused in Remus’s veins. James introduced himself on their first day at university and Remus’s heart hasn’t sat right in his chest since. It’s been bunched over, scrunched in a corner to make room for James and his booming laugh and bright smile, the way his calloused fingers grip Remus’s elbow as he passes him in the hallway of their shared flat and scoops out his pulse.
two boys and a day.

I've found silence is best enjoyed with an open heart beating next to you
But for now be my darling and whisper your words to the rolling moon;
Rolling moon***
“You came looking for me?” Sirius asked quietly after a moment
“Mhm," kiss, "it’s cold – wanted my new favorite space heater to keep me warm.”
Sirius snorted and pulled away to look at Remus. “If either of us is the space heater it might be the one of us who runs so warm he wears shorts even in winter…”
Remus smiled, amused. “Are you calling me hot?”
***
When James Potter inherits his father’s game reserve in South Africa and spends a few months there learning the ropes of the business, of course Sirius has to follow him. He owes it to him to support him while he navigates his grief and the overwhelming task of managing a game and nature reserve bigger than some small countries. But in Africa, Sirius finds more than just a way to give back to his best mate until they make their way back home to Britain. Instead, he finds Remus, a tall, tanned and grumpy ranger who's crispy exterior hides a heart of shy, mushy gold who might make him question where his home really is.

Summary
Sirius’s thoughts are a slow-moving, impending disaster. How he wants to pin Remus up against the cupboards, to crowd him into a corner; how he wants to intertwine their fingers, to brush his lips against Remus’s forehead, his jaw. Instead, he settles for ducking his head and sliding a finger through the belt loop of Remus's jeans—a ridiculous gesture so utterly intimate, even for the pair of them, that he only allows it because he’s just drunk enough.
“Stop stealing my bloody clothes, Lupin.” He says, very quietly.
Remus looks up at him, eyes dark, and murmurs pleasantly: “Better learn to do your own laundry then, Black. Consider it my fee.”

It was an impossible thing, living with Remus Lupin--but Sirius was doing it anyway.
