“I’m sorry.” A phrase that, once upon a time, Q had been very good at saying. In those early days, he’d still believed saying it would make any difference. He hadn’t realized at first that no amount of apologies would save him from the unpredictable and cruel retribution of one James Moriarty. Now Q knew better. Knew that an apology was irrelevant, even when he was forced to say it.
But Graham Whitmore, fresh-faced, naive thing that he was, knew no such thing. If he’d truly understood the futility of those words, he might have never allowed himself to be tangled up in the web. By the time he realized…well, the spider’s poison had already entered the fly’s bloodstream.

If Armand hasn’t blocked his number it’s because he’s enjoying the chase. Or, at the very least, that he can’t quite decide if he wants to hold onto Daniel or let him go. That beautiful, feral, Gordian knot of neuroses never could, could he?
So Daniel calls. He calls and he calls and he calls again. He blows up Armand’s phone. Hitting his line twelve hours of the day, sometimes more, dialling from inside his coffin even though the thick wood fucks with his cell service.
Nothing. For the first month, at least.
Then something happens.
Daniel's had no word from his Maker since Dubai, traversing the globe in search of a lead. The trail has never been colder.
That is until an unstoppable force (Daniel's endless need to poke and prod) meets an immovable object (a certain gremlin's love of modern technology and mind games...)
