Will, having walked to the arcade alone, greeted Lucas and Max. Suddenly, Max dropped the biggest bomb: She hadn’t seen Mike at work for the past two weeks.
What had Mike been doing all day, alone?
Or,

Summary
When Will starts university he thinks he knows how the year will go: he'll room with his best friend, one Mike Wheeler, and spend the entirety of the year hopelessly pining and trying desperately to get over him from the comfort of his bed, a mere 3 feet away. But what he doesn't know is that he'll spend the entirety of the first semester not trying to get over Mike, but to stop getting so goddamn distracted by his mouth, because now that Mike's more stressed than usual, he can't stop putting things in his mouth to calm himself down.
And the day he finally decides to try and help, he somehow gets Mike on his knees in front of him, sucking his dick as if it's the only way he can destress; and because Will's greedy, and selfish, and quite possibly the worst best friend to ever exist, he keeps letting him do it until it's practically ruining his life.

Summary
Mike is standing in the middle of the room, wrapped tightly in Will’s thick winter comforter. Only his face and a few messy locks of dark hair peek out from the top, cheeks flushed a deep, uneven pink that spreads down his neck. His eyes are wide, glassy, darting between Will and the floor.
“Are you sick?” Will asks slowly.
Mike’s lips press into a thin line. His eyes scrunch at the corners, that familiar tell of embarrassment and maybe fear.
He exhales, shaky. “You have to promise not to be weirded out."
Will nods without hesitation. “I promise. Whatever it is, I swear it won’t change anything.”
The comforter falls away all at once, pooling around his feet in a heavy heap of navy wool.
And perched atop Mike’s dark curls—soft and messy as always—are a pair of dog ears. -

Summary
He sits at his desk and thinks to himself about the story he can never tell.
It isn't the story of the mage; that, perhaps, is the easiest story to tell. An acceptable one, a story of love and loss, of power and politics, of magic and monsters.
The stories he grew up on are the same stories he's doomed to tell now. Of supernatural entities and learned helplessness.
No, the story he can never tell is one he's never seen or read before. One that could never have a happy ending.
It goes like this:
Four boys playing a tabletop role-playing game in a basement. Loud, chaotic, wild. There is a distinct air of youth surrounding them. They are untouched by trauma and unharmed by life.
or
mike wheeler, grief, and the (love) story he cannot tell.

Summary
“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.
