Summary
Fate, destiny - none of it seems to matter much when you're under the yoke of an endless infernal debt. Finally free, Niamh sets out to begin a new life. She will find out just how much it matters when she's abducted by mindflayers and thrown into an uneasy alliance with a group of strangers.
Gale isn't a big believer in fate, but he does believe his death is close to hand when the illithid ship takes him. He'll learn just how wrong he is - and just how much life can offer - when he meets Niamh.

Slowburn friend-to-lovers romance, heaps and heaps of pining, eventual smut (check my oneshots if you'd like a sample) and a bonus minor Bloodpact on the side.
This fic is intended as a semi-novelization of the game, with some expansions to canon, some filler for plot holes, and a lot of Forgotten Realms/tabletop lore with a big focus on bards and artificers.

Summary
With her companions and former lover Gale still not speaking to her after finding out she was the mastermind behind the Absolute, Tav leaves Baldur’s Gate heartbroken. Eight months later, she finds herself in Waterdeep for a job accompanying some wizards on an expedition. Of course, Gale happens to be the lead researcher for the mission, much to her dismay.
Gale spent months looking for Tav after the fall of the Absolute, with no luck. So imagine his surprise and delight when the ranger the guild sends him for the mission is Tav. Maybe now he can find out why she left. He also has to deal with one of his apprentices’ inappropriate behaviour.
