The night was warm, and damp. It never rained in Shady Hollow, except during the summer. Other, richer people went to visit beaches in Mexico or Hawaii, but Ruby always preferred the rain, not that he could afford to skip town anyway. He watched Zeke run around in the rain, energy up as it always was at the end of a shift, as the two of them made the trek to their shared apartment.
Zeke circled back around and came up to Ruby. "Did you see these clouds come in?" Zeke's balance wavered, and he leaned in close enough that Ruby could feel the warmth of him through both of their jackets.
"I did, but I figured you'd be more excited about it if I didn't tell you," Ruby replied.
Zeke beamed in response. "Right as always."
"Of course." Ruby looked away, trying not to notice the way their shoulders bumped together. He knew Zeke hadn't had a partner in a while, and that always made him more touchy, but tonight he couldn't handle it. Maybe it was the heat, crawling its way under his skin and setting his chest on fire.

I keep thinking about a post on tumblr I saw about an antag swap au between v3 and sdr2 and I got a scene stuck in my head of the first training scene but with komaeda added. so I decided to write it.

"Well, y'see," Momota started. "Ever since I was selected to be an astronaut, I started doing a daily training routine. But I kinda started slacking ever since we got here. So I made up my mind! You two are going to be my training buddies!"
"Eh? Why me, though?" Saihara asked.
"Seriously…" Nagito added. "I'm definitely not the person you should be asking."
"Cuz I want to! Do I need a reason other than that?" Momota argued. "Hurry up and take your jackets off, let's get started."
